How do I prepare before getting a brazilian or completely bare wax?

1. Let It Grow, But Not Too Much!

First things first, let your hair grow out for about two weeks before your waxing session. This is the sweet spot for length - not too short that the wax can't grip the hairs, and not too long that it becomes more uncomfortable. Think of it as prepping your canvas for a masterpiece!

2. A Little Trim Goes a Long Way

If you've been a bit overzealous in letting things grow and your hairs are looking more like a wild garden than a well-kept lawn, give them a little trim. Aim for about 1/4 inch in length - that's roughly the size of a grain of rice. This length is perfect for wax to adhere to and ensures a faster, less uncomfortable procedure, plus cleaner and smoother results.

3. Cleanliness is Next to Goddess-ness

Hygiene is super important in waxing. If you can, take a shower before your appointment. It's not just about cleanliness; it's about feeling fresh and confident. If showering isn't an option, no worries - baby wipes or feminine wipes will do the trick. It's all about making sure you're comfortable and ready for your waxing session.

4. Dress for Waxing Success

What to wear? We recommend a thong for easy access and minimal discomfort during the waxing process. But hey, we've got you covered (literally) with disposable underwear if you forget or prefer not to use your own.

5. Exfoliate, But Not Right Before

Exfoliating 24-48 hours before your appointment is a great way to prep your skin. It removes dead skin cells and helps prevent ingrown hairs. Just remember, don't exfoliate right before your appointment - we want your skin calm and ready for waxing, not irritated.

6. Loose Clothing for the Win

After your wax, your skin might be a bit sensitive. So, bring some comfortable, loose clothing to wear post-wax. It's all about keeping things airy and non-restrictive to let your skin breathe and recover.

7. Stay Hydrated, Avoid Alcohol and Caffeine

Drinking plenty of water before your appointment is a good idea, but skip the alcohol and caffeine. They can make your skin more sensitive, leading to a more uncomfortable waxing experience.

8. Consider a Pain Reliever

A little nervous about the pain? Taking an over-the-counter pain reliever like ibuprofen about 30 minutes before your appointment can help ease any discomfort.

9. Relax and Breathe

Finally, the best preparation is to relax. At Pia Day Spa, we're all about making your experience as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. So take a deep breath, relax, and let our expert estheticians take care of you.

Remember, a little preparation goes a long way in making your Brazilian or Completely Bare Wax a smooth and pleasant experience. We're here to guide you through every step and ensure you leave feeling fabulous and confident!
