Waxing vs. Shaving

bikini wax seasonBeing in the Beauty business, I have always preferred and recommended Waxing over any other hair removal method. However, in this post I would like to share with you some Pros and Cons about Waxing and Shaving without being biased - maybe just a little.

Shaving

Shaving removes hair from the skin's surface. This quick and easy method can be easily done at home. However, you must make sure to replace the blades every three weeks; bacteria and humidity usually stick to the blade and could be harsh on the skin. Hair usually grows back within a few days, and ingrown hair is also experienced more often. This method could be a good option for people who don't have a lot of hair or have very fine, light hair. Remember to be extra cautious when using razors! waxing-and-shaving

Waxing

Waxing, on the other hand, removes hair from the root. Allowing it to grow back within a couple of weeks or more, depending on the person. Some people may be scared of the potential pain; however, if you have the desired length (ideally 1cm) and exfoliate your skin before your appointment, it should make it easier for the hair to exit. The best part about waxing? Your hair only gets thinner with every appointment. This method is a great option for people with thick hair, fine hair, stubborn hair - basically all types of hair! What we love about waxing is that it gives you the confidence to leave the Spa with no hair and smooth skin.

Whether you Shave or Wax, ensure you take care of your skin before and after. Hair it's still part of your body, and we should be gentle when taking it off. Take a look here for some Pre-waxing Tips!
