Why is collagen induction therapy also known as microneedling?

Collagen Induction Therapy is another name for microneedling (CIT). This is because the small punctures (also known as microchannels) produced during the therapy cause a trauma/healing reaction in your skin. Your skin detects a little damage and sends a signal to the tissue to naturally create more collagen and elastin to repair the 'wound.'
Skin imperfections diminish and, in some cases, vanish altogether as the skin heals.
