How Long Will Your Lash Lift Results Last?
A lash lift typically lasts four to six weeks before gradually relaxing back to your natural lash shape. The exact duration depends on your individual lash growth cycle, aftercare habits, and the products you use around your eyes. Most clients schedule their next lift every six to eight weeks to maintain the look.
In Depth
Understanding why lash lifts have a defined lifespan helps you get the most from each treatment:
Why the curl fades: Your natural lashes go through a growth cycle lasting 60 to 90 days. As old lashes shed and new ones grow in, the new lashes are unlifted, gradually diluting the overall curled effect. By week four to six, enough new lashes have grown in that the lift starts looking less defined.
Factors that extend your lift:
- Avoiding waterproof mascara and oil-based products around the eyes
- Not rubbing or pulling at your lashes
- Using a lash conditioning serum to keep lashes healthy and supple
- Sleeping on your back rather than face-down
Factors that shorten your lift:
- Frequent exposure to steam, saunas, or hot yoga (especially in the first 48 hours)
- Oil-based eye makeup removers that break down the curl structure
- Mechanical curling with a lash curler on top of the lift
- Naturally fast lash growth cycles (genetic — some people shed and regrow lashes faster)
Timing your next appointment: We recommend booking your next lash lift for six to eight weeks out. This gives your lashes a brief rest period between chemical treatments, which keeps them healthy long-term.
At Pia Esthetics Day Spa in South Tampa, we track your treatment schedule and will remind you when it is time for your next lift.
