Can You Get Eyelash Perming and Tinting Done on the Same Day?
We recommend spacing eyelash perming (or a lash lift) and tinting apart by at least three days rather than doing both on the same day. Starting with the lash lift first and then tinting a few days later gives your lashes time to settle and ensures the best results from both treatments without overprocessing.
In Depth
While some salons offer both services back-to-back, at Pia Esthetics Day Spa we prioritize the health of your lashes and the quality of the final result. Here is why we recommend spacing them out:
- Chemical processing: Both a lash lift and tinting involve applying chemical solutions to your lashes. The lift uses a perming solution to reshape the hair structure, and tinting uses a dye that penetrates the hair shaft. Doing both at once means double the chemical exposure in one session.
- Settling period: After a lash lift, the new curl shape needs 24 to 48 hours to fully set. Applying tint too soon can interfere with this setting process and may slightly relax the curl.
- Better tint absorption: Lashes that have had a few days to recover from the lifting solution actually absorb tint more evenly, resulting in richer, more uniform color.
Our recommended timeline:
- Day 1: Get your lash lift
- Days 1-3: Follow lift aftercare (keep lashes dry for 24 hours, avoid rubbing)
- Day 3-5: Come back for your lash tint
The combined result is beautifully curled, deeply colored lashes that look like you are wearing mascara even when you are not. The small gap between appointments is well worth the superior result. Schedule both at our Tampa spa and we will set up both appointments for you at checkout.
