How Much Hair Is Removed During a Brazilian Wax?
A Brazilian wax removes all hair from the front, back, and everything in between — leaving you completely bare from the bikini line down. This includes the pubic mound, labia, and the area between the buttocks. Some clients opt to leave a small strip, triangle, or landing strip on the front, which is sometimes called a modified Brazilian.
In Depth
Understanding exactly what a Brazilian covers helps you feel confident and prepared before your appointment:
What is included:
- Front: All hair on the pubic mound (the area above the bikini line)
- Sides: Everything along and beyond the bikini line
- Labia: All hair on and around the labia
- Back: The area between the buttocks (sometimes called the "back" or "strip" area)
Customization options: While a full Brazilian means everything is removed, you have the choice to keep a small amount of hair on the front. Popular options include:
- Landing strip: A narrow vertical rectangle of hair
- Small triangle: A shaped patch on the pubic mound
- Completely bare: Total removal everywhere — the most popular choice
Let your esthetician know your preference before the session begins. There is no judgment — your esthetician has seen every variation and will deliver exactly what you want.
How is it different from a bikini wax? A regular bikini wax only removes hair that would be visible outside a swimsuit — essentially cleaning up the sides and top of the bikini line. A Brazilian goes much further, removing all hair from the entire area.
