Your esthetician cleanses your skin to remove oil and surface buildup, then uses a sterile surgical blade to remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells and peach fuzz from your face. The blade glides at a precise angle with light, feather-like strokes. It does not hurt. Most clients say it feels like a gentle scraping, slightly similar to shaving but far more controlled and done by someone who knows exactly what they are doing.

Once the dermaplaning is complete, toner is applied to balance the skin. A moisturizing SPF closes the treatment, protecting the freshly exfoliated surface and locking in the smoothness.

Good to Know: After Your Treatment

Dermaplaning has no downtime, but your skin is freshly exfoliated and needs a little protection.

SPF is non-negotiable after this treatment. Your skin is more vulnerable to UV damage right after dermaplaning, and in Tampa that matters every single day of the year. The treatment already closes with a moisturizing SPF, but reapply it if you are spending time outside.

Skip harsh exfoliants and active acids for two to three days. Your skin does not need additional exfoliation and layering actives on freshly dermaplaned skin can cause sensitivity.

Avoid steam rooms and heavy sweating for 24 hours. Keep things simple, clean, and hydrated.
