V - Facial
If you wax regularly and still deal with ingrown hairs, bumps, or darkening along the bikini area, the problem is not your wax. It is what happens to the skin after.
The V-Facial at Pia Esthetics Day Spa in South Tampa is a 70-minute treatment that combines a Brazilian wax or Completely Bare wax with a professional facial treatment designed specifically for bikini skin. It cleanses, exfoliates, extracts ingrown hairs, and treats the skin with clinical tools that reduce ingrowns and pigmentation over time.
This is not a standard wax with a quick soothe at the end. It is a complete skin care protocol for one of the most neglected and most reactive areas on the body.
What Is a V-Facial?
A Vagacial, or V-Facial, is a facial treatment applied to the external bikini area only. It does not involve any internal treatment. The focus is entirely on the skin where ingrown hairs form, where post-wax irritation shows up, and where hyperpigmentation tends to develop from repeated friction, shaving, or waxing over time.
The treatment addresses all of it in one session.
What the Treatment Includes
Your appointment starts with a Brazilian wax or Completely Bare wax, removing all hair from the bikini area cleanly and professionally.
Once the wax is complete, the skin care portion of the treatment begins.
A mild enzyme exfoliant is applied to the bikini area. Enzymes dissolve the dead skin buildup around hair follicles that traps hairs under the surface and causes ingrowns to form. This is a gentler approach than mechanical scrubbing and works more effectively on skin that has just been waxed.
Extractions follow. Your esthetician carefully removes existing ingrown hairs from the skin. This is done with precision and care, clearing the trapped hairs without creating additional irritation or scarring.
A soothing mask is applied after extractions to calm the skin, reduce redness, and hydrate the area.
High-frequency treatment closes the skin care portion of the session. This modality uses an electrical current to kill bacteria on the skin surface, reduce inflammation, and discourage future ingrown hairs from forming. For clients who are prone to recurring ingrowns, this step makes a measurable difference over a series of treatments.
What to Expect
Your appointment runs about 70 minutes. The wax and the skin care treatment flow together in a single session.
The wax portion is the same professional experience as a standalone Brazilian or Completely Bare wax. The skin care that follows is focused and specific. Most clients notice less redness and fewer bumps in the days after this treatment compared to a wax alone.
Over a series of appointments, clients who are prone to ingrowns typically see a significant reduction in their frequency and severity.
Who Is This For?
The V-Facial is the right treatment if you:
- Deal with ingrown hairs after every wax and have not found a product that fixes it
- Notice bumps, redness, or irritation along the bikini area that lingers after waxing
- Have hyperpigmentation or darkening in the bikini area from chronic ingrowns or friction
- Want a wax and a proper skin treatment done together in one visit
- Are ready to actually solve the ingrown problem rather than manage it appointment to appointment
Good to Know: After Your Treatment
The bikini area needs gentle care for the first 48 hours after this treatment.
Wear loose, breathable underwear and clothing. Tight fabric traps heat and can irritate freshly treated skin. Avoid exercise that causes significant sweating for 24 hours.
Skip any active body products like AHA or BHA washes in the bikini area for at least 48 hours. Keep the skin clean and moisturized with something gentle.
If your skin will be exposed to sun, apply SPF. The bikini area is more sensitive after waxing and exfoliation and more prone to pigmentation if UV hits it unprotected.
How Often Should You Book?
For clients with recurring ingrown hairs, a series of V-Facials spaced three to four weeks apart delivers progressively better results. As the skin responds and ingrowns become less frequent, many clients shift to booking this treatment every other wax appointment rather than every one.
Your esthetician can recommend a schedule based on how your skin responds after the first session.
