Botox - Dysport - Xeomin - Consultation and or Procedure
Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are now available at Pia Esthetics Day Spa in South Tampa, administered by Loralee Koontz, PA-C, an aesthetic injector with over 20 years of experience. Loralee sees patients every other Thursday afternoon and is known for a conservative approach and a gentle touch that consistently produces natural-looking results.
A free, no-obligation consultation is available. You can call or book online.
The cost of treatment depends on the number of units used and the product selected. Your consultation will include a full assessment and a clear outline of what is recommended before any procedure begins.
What Are Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin?
Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are all FDA-approved neuromodulators. They work by temporarily relaxing the specific facial muscles responsible for creating expression lines and wrinkles. The results look natural because the underlying cause of the lines is addressed rather than simply filling over them.
All three products use the same active ingredient, botulinum toxin type A, but each brand has a slightly different formulation that affects how quickly it takes effect, how far it spreads from the injection site, and how long the results last. During your consultation, Loralee will discuss which product is the right match for your goals, anatomy, and preferences.
Why Lines and Wrinkles Form
Understanding why lines appear makes it easier to understand why neuromodulators work so well.
Every expression you make, every smile, frown, squint, and raised eyebrow, contracts the muscles under your skin. Over time, the repeated contraction of the same muscles creates a crease in the skin above them. In younger skin, those creases disappear when the face is at rest. As the skin loses collagen and elasticity with age, the creases begin to stay even when the face is relaxed. Those are the lines most people want to address.
Sun exposure accelerates this process by breaking down collagen and damaging the skin's ability to bounce back from repeated folding. Genetics also plays a role. Some people develop prominent lines earlier than others due to naturally stronger facial muscles or thinner skin.
Neuromodulators temporarily weaken the targeted muscle, which prevents the crease from deepening during wear and allows the skin above the muscle to smooth out. With consistent treatment over time, the muscles become progressively weaker and the lines become progressively less prominent.
Why Starting Earlier Makes a Difference
One of the most common questions Loralee hears is whether someone is too young for Botox. The answer depends less on age than on what is happening with the skin.
When treatment begins before lines become deeply etched into the skin, maintenance is straightforward. A small number of units addresses the targeted muscles, the crease stays soft, and results hold for three to four months before a follow-up is needed.
When treatment begins after lines have already set deeply into the skin, neuromodulators alone are often not enough. A permanent crease in the skin may also require filler to restore the volume and smooth the surface, which adds complexity and cost to the treatment plan.
Starting earlier is not about vanity. It is about keeping the treatment simple and the results easy to maintain.
What to Expect at Your Appointment
Your first visit begins with a consultation. Loralee reviews your facial anatomy, listens to your goals, and discusses the options that make sense for your specific situation. There is no pressure to proceed. The consultation is genuinely informational and entirely free.
If you decide to move forward, the procedure itself takes about 20 minutes. A fine needle is used to deliver precise amounts of the chosen product into the targeted muscles. Most clients describe the sensation as minimal. There is no significant recovery time. Most people return to their normal activities immediately.
Results are typically visible within three to seven days and reach their full effect within two weeks. Most clients see results that last three to four months before a follow-up treatment is needed.
